Teams Meetings: Controls toolbar


Introduction

Once you have joined the Teams meeting, you will see the following meeting controls toolbar on your screen using the web or desktop app.

From left to right:

Timer

It shows how long your meeting has been running.


Camera

Turn your camera on  Video call button and off  Camera off icon   . The icon will change with a line through the camera when set to off. In this state, other members in the meeting will not see you.

Microphone

Mute  Microphone off Teams meeting toolbar icon  and unmute  Microphone on Teams meeting toolbar icon your microphone. The icon will change with a line through the microphone when set to off. In this state, other members in the meeting will not hear you.

Screen share

Present content Share screen buttonproduces options to share PowerPoint presentations or your screen. You can share your whole screen or just a certain window or application. Click the Screen share button and select the screen or window you want to share. Check the Include System Audio box to share the sound from your PC too.

Raise your hand

Raising your hand is a great option when you want to let others in the meeting know that you want to speak. Click the hand icon button once to raise your hand. A notification that your hand is raised will appear on your icon and in the list of meeting attendees. Click the button again to lower it.

Chat  

This button shows the chat conversation between participants in the meeting in a chat window. Here, you can share links and files with all members of the meeting, as you would within a standard Teams text chat.

View participants

Select the View participants button to see who is present in the meeting. You can also invite other people into the meeting from this window.


Leave meeting

Click to leave the meeting.
