Introduction
With the Microsoft Forms add-on in Teams, you can easily create polls, including surveys and quizzes.
Please note that only meeting organizers and presenters can set up polls for Teams meetings.
Instructions
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- On the left menu bar, pick the more icon "..."
- Type Forms in the search box or find the Forms app add-on by choosing More apps.
- Select Forms and click Add. You'll see the new Forms app on your Teams app list or at the bottom of your Teams window.
Create Forms polls before your Teams meeting
- Create your Teams meeting in Outlook or in Teams.
- Send your invitation to your meeting attendees.
- After you have sent your meeting invitation, go to your Calendar in Teams.
- Find your event and double-click on it to open the meeting details.
- From the meeting menu, you will see a plus sign icon "+" to add a tab.
- Click on the plus sign icon "+". An Add a tab menu will launch. Select Forms under Optimized for meetings.
- A Forms box with instructions will pop up. After you have reviewed the instructions, click Save.
- This action will add a Polls tab to your meeting chat. Click on New poll.
- Create your first poll(s) by choosing Multiple Choice, Quiz or Word Cloud.
- Configure the form with questions and options. The checkbox options give you control over results sharing, respondent records, and co-editors. Click Save as Draft.
Launch Form polls
Launch before or after the Teams meeting
- Go to the Polls tab of your Teams meeting.
- In the poll that you've created, click on the down arrow icon to view more options, including Edit poll and Delete poll.
- Click on the Launch button to launch the poll. It will notify invited meeting participants to take.
Launch during the Teams meeting
- Join the Teams meeting.
- Click on the Polls tab on the top menu of the meeting.
- It will open the Polls panel on the right. Click on Launch to launch the poll.
- The poll will be launched. Meeting participants will see a pop-up with the poll to answer.
- When ready, click on Close poll in the Polls panel.
- To view detailed results, click on Response details.
- In the Response details window, you can export the results in the form of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet by clicking Export. Results will appear as a file in your computer's downloads folder.
