Introduction
The University of Toronto (U of T) provides all community members with access to a Microsoft 365 toolkit. These toolkits give staff, students and faculty access to core Microsoft applications such as Outlook email and calendaring, in addition to a range of other Microsoft 365 applications.
Some toolkits offer Microsoft 365 ProPlus, which allows the installation of subscription-based desktop versions of Office apps such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams and OneDrive.
Before proceeding, please confirm if Microsoft 365 ProPlus is part of the toolkit assigned to you by consulting this article: Microsoft 365 Licensing – Toolkit overview and eligibility.
Instructions
- If you see an error message in a Microsoft Office application stating that your account doesn’t allow editing on a Mac, click the “Use Another Account” button to start the Office Activation Wizard. When prompted enter your email address and/or UTORid and password.
- If you see an error message stating, “The system requires that you sign on to a valid account,” send a request through ESC (http://uoft.me/esc) for further troubleshooting steps.
