Download Microsoft 365 ProPlus for Mac


Introduction

Depending on your eligibility you may have access to Microsoft 365 ProPlus, which allows the installation of subscription-based desktop versions of Office apps such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams and OneDrive. You can also get Skype for Business as a separate download from the Apps & devices section.

Instructions

To download and install the software, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into your account at portal.office.com.
  2. Click on Install and more in the top right corner of the screen and select Install Microsoft 365 apps.



  3. Go to the Office apps & devices section and click on Install Office.



  4. You will be prompted to save the Microsoft Office Installer file. It will be saved to your Downloads folder.
  5. Open the .pkg file to start the installation.
  6. Click Continue in each screen to progress through the installation options.

  7. Read the License Agreement and click Continue then Agree.

  8. At the Destination Select screen, click Install then Continue

  9. At the Installation Type screen, click Install.

  10. At the security prompt, enter your Macintosh’s password and click Install Software to continue.

  11. When it’s finished, click Close.

Open Microsoft Office for the first time

  1. Open Microsoft Word. Click Get Started.

  2. Click Sign In.

  3. Enter your U of T email address and click Next.
  4. You will see the Weblogin screen. Type your UTORid and password and click Log in.

  5. Microsoft Office will activate and you will see a screen where you can choose how Office will look. Click Continue.
     
     
  6. Click Start Using Word.

Note: When launching another Microsoft Office app for the first time, you will see a window requesting to use your “Microsoft Identity” information. Click Always Allow.
