Use inbox rules in Outlook


Introduction

Use inbox rules to automatically perform specific actions on email that arrives in your inbox. Using inbox rules is helpful if you get many notification emails from a particular source.

Instructions

  1. Click the settings gear icon, then begin typing “rules” into the search field. When “Inbox rules” appears below the field, click on it.

  2. Under Rules, click on + Add new rule to create a new rule.

  3. In the next screen, specify the options for your rule, including the name of the rule, a condition, and an action. Rules can also contain exceptions to conditions. 
     
  4. Click Save.
