UTORGrouper: Add or remove an owner to the shared mailbox

Note: If you are trying to access UTORGrouper from a non-U of T network, you will need to go through UTORvpn.

Add an owner

If you are the owner of a shared mailbox, you can add staff or faculty with a UTmail+ account as co-owners. To do so, you must modify the owner management group for the shared mailbox.

  1. Log into utorgrouper.utoronto.ca.

  2. Click My groups. Under Groups I manage, click on the Owners group.
  3. Click Add members.
  4. Type the email address or UTORid of the person you would like to add. Choose their name from the drop-down menu. Please note that if you accidentally click somewhere other than on the name, you may have to delete the contents of the search field and retype it.

Please note that group names currently include the Shared Mailbox ID in parentheses at the end. There will be an upcoming change to replace the parentheses with square brackets. These characters should NOT be included in any mailbox search you do.

  6. Those people who have been granted access will now be able to use UTORGrouper to manage owners and members of the shared mailbox.

Remove an owner

  1. Log into utorgrouper.utoronto.ca.
  2. Click My groups. Under Groups I manage, click on the Owners group.
  3. Select the checkbox next to an owner’s name and click Remove selected members. If you are removing yourself from the group, ensure you have already added replacement owners, since the group will disappear from your UTORGrouper view.
