Removing spyware safely requires the use of special security software. There are software products which scan and remove spyware from your computer. If you believe your system is infected with adware, spyware, or both, try a free adware or spyware removal tool such as Malwarebytes or adaware.
Be extremely careful when installing freeware or shareware. Many such products include multiple spyware programs which get installed at the same time. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file-sharing programs are notorious for spreading this kind of malicious software. If you’re not familiar with a particular product, ask for advice.
Be careful when prompted to run an installer program; never do so if you did not initiate the installation.
Keep your computer updated with patches – some spyware will exploit known vulnerabilities to install themselves.
