Report a suspected phishing website


Introduction

Remember, the University of Toronto will never ask for your password via email. If you receive a suspicious email containing a link requesting your UTORid and password, please report it. If you are unsure, send a request for help through ESC (http://uoft.me/esc).

Mozilla Firefox

  1. The Phishing and Malware Protection in Firefox uses the Google Safe Browsing service.
  2. Report phishing sites by using the Report Phishing form from Google Safe Browsing.
  3. Report websites that contain malicious software by using the Malicious Software form from Google Safe Browsing.

Google Chrome or Safari

Report phishing sites by using the Report Phishing form from Google Safe Browsing.

How else can you help?

Phishing emails and websites can also be reported to the U of T Security Matters team and PhishTank.

Google Docs

If the phishing site is hosted on Google Docs, you can request that Google delete the content.

  1. At the top of the Google Doc, go to Help and choose Report abuse.

  2. Then select the content type (in this case, “Spam, malware or phishing”):
