Wireless access at other universities and colleges with eduroam (OSX 10.7 and higher)

Introduction

Note: We recommend that U of T faculty, staff and students set up and test their computers prior to travelling to a partner institution. Once it is set up, you will have wireless access to any eduroam-enabled institution in the world. While at U of T, you should be using the UofT wireless network.

You can use eduroam to gain wireless access at universities and colleges other than the University of Toronto.

What is eduroam?
“Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.” (from eduroam.org)

Instructions

  1. From the wireless network icon in top right corner, ensure Wi-Fi is set to On.
  2. From the wireless network drop-down menu in the top right corner, select eduroam (you may need to select Other Networks first).
  3. In the authentication window, type UTORid@utoronto.ca (replacing UTORid with your actual UTORid) in the Username field. Type your UTORid password in the Password field. Leave Mode as Automatic. Click Join.
