Wireless access at other universities and colleges with eduroam (Windows 7)

Wireless access at other universities and colleges with eduroam (Windows 7)

Introduction

Note: We recommend that U of T faculty, staff and students set up and test their computers prior to traveling to a partner institution. Once it is set up, you will have wireless access to any eduroam-enabled institution in the world. While at U of T, you should be using the UofT wireless network.

You can use eduroam to gain wireless access at universities and colleges other than the University of Toronto.

What is eduroam?
“Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community.” (from eduroam.org)

Instructions

  1. Click on the wireless network icon at the bottom right of your screen and select eduroam.
  2. Click the Connect button.
  3. Enter your user name as utorid@utoronto.ca (where utorid is your actual UTORid), and your UTORid password.
  4. If you see a Windows Security Alert, click Connect.
