UTmail+: Remove an existing email account from Outlook on Windows


When you have an existing UTmail+ account set up and are encountering issues, you can delete the existing account before adding it back to troubleshoot. The error may have arisen because the original account used legacy authentication, which requires you to delete the account and re-add the account while utilizing modern authentication. 

Note: If you have a custom configuration with locally stored folders and mail, please back it up before continuing the deletion process. 

Instructions

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click on File at the top menu bar.

  3. Select the U of T email account in the list of accounts under Account Infomation. Then click on Account Settings.
     
  4. In the Account Settings dropdown, click on Account Settings...

  5. In the Account Settings window, select the existing U of T email account from the list. Then click on Remove.

  6. In the confirmation message window of Account Settings, click on OK

  7. Click on Close to exit the Account Settings window.
