Background

Registration deadlines for all graduate programs are established by the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), and the deadlines are published in the SGS Calendar. All students should review the SGS Calendar frequently because missed deadlines will have administrative and academic consequences.

Students who missed the SGS registration deadline (e.g., did not make a minimum fee payment) will have their registration financially cancelled (FINCA). Cancelled students are automatically removed from any course(s) that they are enrolled in. It is the student’s responsibility to resolve FINCA status by following the instructions below. After registration is restored, it is the student’s responsibility to re-enroll in courses. Moreover, students with teaching assistantships must be registered to retain eligibility for teaching assignments.

Solution

Late registration procedure:

  1. Go to http://forms.provost.utoronto.ca/forms/lrf
  2. Log in using your UTORid
  3. Under “My Forms”, complete and submit the “Late Registration” form
  4. Pay the late registration fee
  5. Take a screenshot of your invoice as proof of payment
  6. Email SGS (graduate.information@utoronto.ca) regarding your FINCA status and attach your proof of payment to receive your invitation to register
  7. Log in to ACORN and confirm that you have been invited to register (INVIT)
  8. Pay your fees to complete the registration process
