UTmail+: Delete an existing email account from Apple Mail

When you have an existing UTmail+ account set up and are encountering issues, you can delete the current account before adding it back to troubleshoot. The error may have arisen because the original account used legacy authentication, which requires you to delete the account and re-add the account while utilizing modern authentication.

Note: If you have a custom configuration with locally stored folders and mail, please back it up before continuing the deletion process.

Instructions

  1. At the top left corner of your screen, click on the Apple icon. In the dropdown, select System Preferences...

  3. Look through the list of accounts on the Internet Accounts page on the left. If you see your University of Toronto Microsoft Exchange account select it. Then click on the - subtract icon on the bottom left of the list.
