Thesis / Capstone Design Project
Bioengineering Minor - Thesis/Capstone Design Project
Background
Registered students may receive credit towards their Bioengineering Minor Program by completing a thesis or capstone design project at their home department instead of enrollment in BME498Y. However, all minor programs are managed by the Cross-Disciplinary Programs Office (CDP). Students must request CDP approval to receive course credit.
Procedures
Before you begin:
- Consult the undergraduate office of your home department to receive written permission (e.g., email correspondence) to undertake a Bioengineering-related thesis or design project
- Enrol in the thesis course (e.g., CHE499Y) for your department
- Complete a Minor Thesis Approval Form and submit the signed form to CDP (engineering.minors@utoronto.ca)
- Begin your thesis or design project
After completion:
- Provide a one-page summary of your results (if you completed a group project, a second page with individual work breakdown is required) to receive your course credit
