Sharing Link Method (recommended for external users)
- In a document library, select the folder to be shared.
- Select Share from the menu.
- In the pop up, enter the user's email address and select which permissions they should have from the dropdown.
- Send the link.
Direct Access Method (recommended for internal users)
- In a document library, hover over the folder and right-click it. Select Manage access.
- In the pop up, Select the ellipses (...) (top right) > Advanced settings.
- Select Stop Inheriting Permissions (top left) > OK. This will make the item's permissions separate from the rest of the site. To reverse this, select Delete unique permissions > OK.
- Select Grant Permissions. Enter the user's name. Select Share.
- If you're granting access to an external user who's system isn't on O365 or encounter an error, use the Share option in the Manage access pane.
- To add multiple users, separate their names/addresses with a semi-colon beforehand and paste it in the field.
- Select Show Options to choose the access level and check/uncheck the box to send a notification.
If you can't set up permissions, it may be due to lack of access. Contact the site owner or EASI SharePoint Support for assistance.
