Share or create unique permissions for a folder

Sharing Link Method (recommended for external users)

  2. Select Share from the menu.

  1. In the pop up, enter the user's email address and select which permissions they should have from the dropdown.

Direct Access Method (recommended for internal users)

  1. In a document library, hover over the folder and right-click it. Select Manage access.
  2. In the pop up, Select the ellipses (...) (top right) > Advanced settings
  3. Select Stop Inheriting Permissions (top left) > OK. This will make the item's permissions separate from the rest of the site. To reverse this, select Delete unique permissions > OK.
  4. Select Grant Permissions. Enter the user's name. Select Share.
    • If you're granting access to an external user who's system isn't on O365 or encounter an error, use the Share option in the Manage access pane.
    • To add multiple users, separate their names/addresses with a semi-colon beforehand and paste it in the field.
    • Select Show Options to choose the access level and check/uncheck the box to send a notification.

If you can't set up permissions, it may be due to lack of access. Contact the site owner or EASI SharePoint Support for assistance.
