PLEASE NOTE: Support has ended for Windows Mail and Calendar
Microsoft support for Windows Mail, Calendar, and People ended on December 31, 2024. You can no longer able to send and receive emails or events using Windows Mail and Calendar. We recommend moving to new Outlook. Follow the steps in this article to export local emails, calendar events, and contacts stored in Mail, Calendar, and People: Export emails and contacts from Windows Mail or People and import to new Outlook.
When you have an existing UTmail+ account set up and are encountering issues, you can delete the existing account before adding it back to troubleshoot. The error may have arisen because the original account used legacy authentication, which requires you to delete the account and re-add the account while utilizing modern authentication.
Note: If you have a custom configuration with locally stored folders and mail, please back it up before continuing the deletion process.
Instructions
- From the Start menu, launch the Mail app.
- Click on the Settings (gear-shaped) icon on the bottom left. In the right panel called Manage accounts that opens, click on your University of Toronto email account.
- In the account settings window for the email, select, "Remove this account from this device."
- Confirm the deletion by clicking on Delete.
- A confirmation of successful deletion should appear. Click on Done.
